Suspect at large After Kidnapping Attempt in Buckeye

A suspect is at large after a Kidnapping Attempt in Buckeye, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

A “person of interest” in the attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old boy Monday morning in Buckeye has been arrested in connection with a burglary, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO said they received a report that a 10-year-old boy was grabbed by a man near Elliot and Tuthill roads Monday morning just after 8 a.m. .

The boy was able to get away, according to officials, and the suspect fled the scene.

The burglary suspect was arrested at a home not far from where the attempted abduction was reported, according to Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

“The boy was able to get away from and flee the abductor,” Enriquez said.

Helicopter and canine units responded and detained a person of interest who was caught in a residential burglary close to where the attempted kidnapping happened.

MCSO is working to determine if this person is related to the attempted kidnapping.

MCSO is looking for a dark haired Caucasian man who has a tattoo on his right forearm. Other details about the man are unavailable.
