GAIN Event

The Buckeye Police Department will host the annual Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods (GAIN) event from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, in the Lowe’s parking lot, 700 S. Watson Rd.

The annual resident appreciation event is hosted by police departments in communities throughout Arizona during October.

The Buckeye event, which is free and open to the public, will offer residents young and old alike to meet Buckeye police officers, give residents a chance to learn crime prevention and safety tips, as well as get a close-up look at police vehicles and tactical gear worn by officers.

There will be a mobile video game theater, three giant bounce houses, the Arizona National Guard’s rock-climbing wall, face painting, interactive booths, entertainment, and giveaways.

In addition, police will provide an on-site paper shredder for documents, as well as an on-site collection for residential hazardous waste.
