Officers responded about 4:15 a.m. to a robbery-in-progress call near Court Street and Sentinel Drive, according to Sgt. Jason Weeks, Buckeye Police Department spokesman.

The robber discharged several rounds from a firearm during the incident, but no one was injured, police said. The robber took the victim’s property and fled to a vehicle waiting at the west end of Sentinel Drive, police said.

Responding officers spotted a vehicle matching the description entering Interstate 10 at Verrado Way and pulled it over. Evidence related to the offense was observed in the vehicle and a firearm was discovered in the roadway near the vehicle, police said.

Eloy Richard Gallegos, 30, of Phoenix, and Michael Christopher Bean, 32, of Phoenix, were taken into custody by Buckeye police officers on suspicion of armed robbery, aggravated assault and various weapons-related offenses, police said.
