The city of Buckeye is holding a public hearing at their regularly scheduled City Council meeting, June 20th at 6 p.m., to provide an opportunity for residents to comment on a PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE of three percent increase in the primary property tax levy.

The proposed levy will be $227,798, or three percent, above the Truth in Taxation levy amount, an increase of $6.07 over last year to $180.00. The current tax is $173.93 on a $100,000 home.

This proposed tax is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction, any changes that may occur from property tax levies or voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

The public hearing is open to all Buckeye residents for comment. Residents can complete a comment card to provide input on the proposed property tax agenda item.
