The City of Buckeye Water Resources Director Dave Nigh announced his resignation Wednesday.

Nigh’s resignation comes after months of dispute between Buckeye residents and the city over sky-high water bills.

Dozens of Buckeye residents started noticing huge increases in their water bills back in October.

One resident’s water bill spike was as high as $441,000.

“I don’t know how water bills can double, triple, with no explanation at all,” said Mary Wcisel, a Buckeye resident.
